Support from a UK Independent Prescriber
When overseas prescriptions cannot be dispensed
In some circumstances, a UK-based Independent Prescriber may be able to offer a private clinical consultation to patients whose care involves overseas medical history.
Any such consultation is conducted entirely under UK clinical standards. Prescribing is never automatic and depends on a full clinical assessment, review of relevant information, and patient safety considerations.
Clinical responsibility rests fully with the UK Independent Prescriber. This service does not involve endorsing or converting overseas prescriptions.
Video consultations
Video consultations may be offered where clinically appropriate and safe.
For some patients — including those who are overseas, travelling, or temporarily outside the UK — a secure video consultation may allow an adequate clinical assessment. The decision to use video consultation is always based on clinical judgement and patient safety.
Where a video consultation is not suitable, patients will be advised to attend a face-to-face appointment or seek alternative care.
If supply or prescribing is not appropriate
If we are unable to dispense a prescription or provide prescribing support, we will explain the reason clearly and, where appropriate, advise on:
-
alternative options
-
seeking care from a UK-registered prescriber
-
next steps to ensure safe continuity of care
Before you contact us
To avoid disappointment, we recommend contacting Rose Pharmacy in advance with:
-
a copy of the prescription
-
the prescribing country
-
prescriber details
-
medicine name and strength
This helps us assess eligibility and advise you appropriately.
Our commitment to patient safety

International and EU/EEA prescriptions are assessed individually. Supply or prescribing is not guaranteed and is subject to UK legal requirements and professional judgement.
Where medicines have been lawfully supplied, courier delivery may be arranged at the patient’s request. Import requirements and acceptance in the destination country remain the patient’s responsibility.
